"Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive!"

I was walking on the beach and saw some seashells that spelled out, "Liar".

It doesn't really matter that the statute of limitations may have run out for the earlier 'missteps' of Comey-I'm sure the DOJ could conjure up 34 charges.

I hope all concerned start throwing each other under the bus-and they all end up behind bars where they belong.

I for one would love to see Peter Strzok and Lisa Page on the stand under oath to testify that Comey did little more than order his minions to leak anything to the media to portray him in a favorable light.

And then there was a rock and shell configuration that looked a lot like an arrow pointed at a reasonable facsimile of (you guessed it) a funky little picture of James Comey and his 6'8" finger was pointed at a short shit pic of Hillary Clinton!

Dude, how many times ya gotz to be told to not go swimming in the kelp right after lunch!?!!!

And there are Dem-agogues saying that democracy has been threatened by the Kimmel kerfuffel. To me, this whole sordid mess is when democracy was all but thrown out the window by Dems and establishment Repubs- their carefully constructed and precariously balanced hold on the levers of federal governmental power would be exposed and deconstructed with a fully functioning Trump administration in his first term. We have all paid a price for this.

No doubt they are all guilty and should be held accountable. I have doubts if any of these Deep Swamp people serve and time in prison. I pray I am proven wrong, I am not getting my hopes up for them to be convicted. Everything started with Obama he instigated the entire thing .

It will be a long shot, no doubt. That area is still pretty blue--but recall many Democrats still harbor a grudge against Comey for his last minute statement about the Clinton investigation. They think he gave the election to Trump--so maybe that will catch up with him, too.

That would be great, Comey is scum.

I am with you on the praying. Everything did not just start with Obama. In the 2015 - 2016 runup to the election, Obama ran the inside, government branch of the corrupt operation against Trump, while Hillary ran the outside, campaign branch. Of course Obama, as head of the DNC, also assisted the campaign branch by partially funding the Steele Novel.

Obama won't face any sort of repercussions for what he did. But his legacy is diminished more and more each year--the state of the Democratic Party is in shambles largely due to the politics and policies he promoted.

Most tellingly, he did not accept the intelligence report first reported, but required his intelligence staff to write reports that reported HOW the President elect was acting with Putin, not IF he was, e.g., FALSE INTELLIGENCE.

When I heard of the charges, I immediately remembered the Professor friend who leaked to the Times for Comey.

I did not realize he was a 'special government employee" so that gives wide berth to Comey's claim he did not authorize "anyone at the FBI" to leak.

I'd be okay with all of those Dirty Azz Wipes to be put in a line up of stocks (say about 15 or more) and be locked in for a good couple of weeks just soze we all could trek on by and hurl loads of rotten meat and soft smelly old fruit mixed in with just a bit of soiled soil at their mugs (with no medical assistance on board)...AND THEN they'd have to re-locate to say Chernobyl for an extended vacay with no passport or visa to return the USA for like EVER! And if more jerks are in line to be put in the stocks, just have a rotation of the first set of 15 then the next set of 15 and then the next...and so on.

OH...and attach all of their holdings of every type and all other assets (on shore and off shore) plus any real estate both personal and private and pensions and/or retirement accounts to be auctioned off. Then have those proceeds (all of it) go to every j6er that was ever even approached by the Biden admin. hatchet squad and for sure any j6er that was incarcerated for any minute amount of time!

I say F'em...F'em good!

Rrrrrrrreeeeerrrrr fffffttttttt!

Another great piece, Julie! It’s almost like Comey was the Deep Throat to Richman, the way Mark Felt was to Woodward and Bernstein, always shaping the narrative, making sure to protect Comey’s fragile ego along the way. I’d love it if they could charge a grand conspiracy, just to force some in the media to have to report the connected dots they love to ignore! All those bogus Russiagate reporting awards given to the lying mainstream media ought to be collected, melted down and forged into a new award for you and your tenacious reporting!

Great summary of the Comey indictment to-date and particularly interesting that the sleuth in you adds to the pillow talk of Stzrok and Page that of Schmidt and Wallace through this capture “Schmidt is the author of numerous Russiagate articles and currently married to MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace” so one can see how the fake news was continuously populated with the Deep States lies over many years as evil conductors such as Comey wished. Great read Julie.

Thank you, Graham. Yes is appears Nicolle is particularly perturbed these days, more so than normal. Also recall Comey bragged to her about the ambush of Flynn in the White House.

So, Comey hired Richman so Comey could get his input on FBI matters for future output to the press. Did Richmond leave his Columbia law school job? What was his FBI salary for being Comey’s legal therapist? Geez. This is all so strange.

Expand full comment
Julie Kelly's avatar

I believe he did keep his Columbia gig throughout the entire time, Teresa. Which raises a bunch of other ethical (haha) questions. But clearly Comey added Richman to the official FBI employee roster to protect him, give him security clearance, and let him use a sort of a "hands off" approach to contacting the media. Very sly--and shady.

One can hope that Mr. Comey will find great succor as center at the mid security federal penitentiary that he gets to spend a few years attending. At 6’8” he will be the star he has always wanted to be, maybe McCabe can be point guard and some of these other characters can be players on the same team. Though with the potential of maybe a dozen or more all in the can together they can play shirts and skins against each other or practice hard so that they when they get out they can take their show on the road playing every carney venue across the lower 48…we can only dream…

Thanks for this analysis of the recently announced indictment of J. Comey, Julie. I appreciate your well-crafted description of this confusing case against Comey with all of its moving parts, as it were. I remain hopeful that something concrete will happen, but I'm also reticent to get too hopeful because of my certainty that absolutely nothing will come of it. Although it is encouraging that the DOJ was able to get the indictment just before the five year statute-of-limitation expired. I told my wife yesterday that this is the only attempted coup d'etat in my adult lifetime and there must be accountability exacted for those execrable minions who perpetrated this on the United States of America. I believe those involved should be put through the ringer in the manner in which the entire weight of the federal government was applied to the grandmothers who were swept-up in the J6 travesty Let's pray that God will make it so.

Watch how the news media handles this… CNN would like nothing more than to dump MSNBC from the airwaves, it would provide CNN with “credibility” and have the blame of reporting focused on their competitor.

MSM can’t rally around a lava lamp, there are too many unknown moving parts and none of them want to appear as part of this entanglement. By nabbing Comey first, the DOJ can move up and down the food chain which makes everyone nervous. As soon as others are pulled in for questioning, there’ll be more fingers pointing than a South Korean nail salon.

I am concerned about a couple of things. One, has the statute of limitations run out on most of these crimes?

Two, if these demon criminals are not held accountable with more than a slap on the wrist, it is going to continue at much higher level and intensity. When President Trump leaves office he and his family will be jailed, probably in that DC hell hole that held the J6'ers. He will not be allowed any communication with the outside world. Melania and Baron will be jailed and probably his two other sons. Before you tell me that this is ridiculous, think about how viscous and evil these demoncrats are. They very well could win everything in 28. How....nothing has been done about the rampant and obvious election cheating. The demons have been perfecting and growing their cheating operation since no one has been held accountable. How do you think Harris got so many votes. It doesn't matter what idiot they run as a candidate.

Surely President Trump knows what lengths they will go to destroy him and his family.

It should be. Conspiracy statute, however, does involve the last "overt act" so could that be Comey's 2020 testimony or even Brennan's 2023 testimony? We just have to wait and see for now.
