Thanks Julie-very informative as usual. Really appreciate the details and your insights for those of us with neither the time or insights to get into the weeds of all these Trump actions and EO’s.
Yes, thank you. With the firehose of information and actions coming from this White House it would have been easy to miss this. These deep state actors must be held accountable.
“After signing the order, the president turned to his aide and asked, “we’ll be doing this for other firms as time goes by?” The aide answered in the affirmative. After adding his signature, Trump threw his Sharpie to someone in the office. “Why don’t you send it to Jack Smith,” he joked.”
How much do I love President Trump’s biting sense of humor.
I'll put my $20 on the table that says Covington & Burling gets their $140k worth of pro bono back many times over in USAID-type leakages of government $$$ to NGO-adjacent parties- either directly to the firm or indirectly to its partners and other hangers-on.
It certainly needs looking into. But as with the "intelligence officials", I am thinking weasel words were used to limit complicity. But maybe in their hubris, they didn't bother. Time will tell.
What a coincidence that Eric Holder, Victoria Nuland and Dana Remus would all be working at the same law firm. I'm sure more members of the cabal are employed there.
Eric Holder was never held accountable for the debacle of his 'Fast and Furious' operation and he spent no time in a federal prison for ignoring a subpoena from Congress, unlike Stephen K Bannon who spent four months in a federal prison for the same.
So glad to see President Trump going on the offense with these people and their lawfare.
Speaking of C&B, weren't they the ones that talked Gen. Mike Flynn into taking that horrific plea deal while "representing" him? When is he going to sue them into oblivion?
The problem with sending the Sharpie that President Trump used to sign the EO to Jack Smith, is finding the hiding hole that Smith is hanging out in. Sort like the hole Saddam was in, when captured by an American unit, a tiny dark little redoubt in some dude’s farmhouse yard near his home town in Tikrit, Iraq. One could guess Smith is either in the Hampton’s impersonating an illegal immigrant gardner, (we need the little people to do that “sort” of work that Americans can’t and won’t do..) or more likely can be found in Brussels in the Grand-Place de Bruxelles in an open cafe’ with his lawyers from Covington & Burling eating moles-frites with a hearty red wine plotting his come back to take down Orangeman Bad once for all. They better move fast, it is hard to carry out the lawfare fight from an outdoor prison cell in GITMO….
Thank you greatly. A REAL journalist at last. From your keyboard to both Trump and GOD'S ears. GOD IS fulfilling HIS promises. I thank HIM greatly and praise HIS name. The last 4 yrs pushed beyond the amount of endurance that normal people can stand. We have had enough. Now is the time and beginning of GOD'S righteous anger and justice.
Sadly DC is an extremely corrupt place. The Democrats have such a foothold on the place. I don’t see how the Republicans can reverse all of it. Forget Jack Smith’s terrible behavior. That is bad enough. Hope his illegal activities will be revealed. However, I want an explanation and investigation to occur in Democrats ownership of DC property.
We can't reverse all of it. But we can build a wall around it, dig a trench around it, and let it float down the Potomac and out to sea.
Sadly, we tried this to NYC and Manhattan just sunk in place. I won't tell the rest of the joke - it's NSFW.
But, joking aside, the reason DC, the local Maryland & Virginia counties are so blue is because of all the Federal agencies based there. So, other than cutting the size of the workforce, relocating the bulk of the workforce out of DC, NoVA and MD should help make the electorate of those areas more balanced. Not sure how well that will work, but it's a start.
Beyond that, I believe, and suggest every chance I get, that the DC Federal courts need to be restructured in a major way. The way their jurisdiction is outlined now by federal law is because the agency heads are in DC, they get sued in DC, making the DC Federal courts very powerful. They have grown very corrupt. So I suggest:
- abolish the DC Federal Court
- set up 10 special Federal Courts - one in each circuit - that handle lawsuits against the United States and criminal actions. You sue the government, or get charged by the government, in the circuit where you live. The judges get randomly shuffled every X years between the circuits. This way, juries get picked out of the electorate in each district.
What I don't know is if Congress has the authority to limit District courts from issuing nationwide injunctions, but this needs to be done. I know the Supreme Court issues rules, but doesn't Congress have some control over Article III courts?
Yes, many of the connected firms need to be taken down a notch to allow more fresh legal representation for the Government. Out with the old guard and their unsustainable and monopolative practices and in with new law firms.
Thank you Julie, and I hope to see the DOJ going after Marc Elias and his gutter snipe lawyers who together formulated the plot on the Trump campaign advisors, and commissioned the Steele Dossier with the Hillary Clinton campaign. They not only interfered in the 2016 election, but led the heads of the FBI, CIA, NSA to go after the Trump campaign, and taking office, they tried to destroy the Presidency of Trump and future Presidents.
He's the biggest Democratic fixer and linked to major Super PACs that create and cause havoc in elections all over the country. He needs to be investigated along with his law firm and PAC's illegal activities in elections and lawsuits to steal elections. Elias' and his law firm foment lies and fabricate fiction that he gives to his complicit media appendages to falsely accuse Republicans. They run this through all the repeating scandalous tales that are untrue to bring down their opponents.
He's the worst of the worst and if he has any security clearance it should be removed now, and be investigated to the fullest extent by Bondi.
Next up (I hope): Perkins Coie.
You know, the "private law firm" that had a FBI sub-office on the premises.
And, if I may make a recommendation to AG Bondi, all of those firms and NGO's should be served NOW with evidence / document preservation orders.
The Dems decimated client-attorney privilege. Now they have to live with it.

The loss of business is potentially huge for C&B!
I also wonder how much of the “pro bono” work was compensated by some sort of DEI grant, or other such kick back. This story has legs.
I'll put my $20 on the table that says Covington & Burling gets their $140k worth of pro bono back many times over in USAID-type leakages of government $$$ to NGO-adjacent parties- either directly to the firm or indirectly to its partners and other hangers-on.
No doubt about it!!
Oh, no doubt they were being paid.
I can't stop laughing!
Keep cutting the heads of the lawfare-snakes. The Medusa heads are numerous!
Jack (OFF) Smith certainly does have the deranged look, but 'Dam Schiffty still rules that roost!
Let's hope Schiffs day is coming.
It certainly needs looking into. But as with the "intelligence officials", I am thinking weasel words were used to limit complicity. But maybe in their hubris, they didn't bother. Time will tell.
Hopefully he won’t be the master of his own bate from now on…
Been keeping a Schiff list and it's well populated by now...
Haha, Schiff List.....

Julie, whatever happened to the documents taken by the FBI during the Marlago raid?

And I believe Saddam's hole was rife with spiders. I imagine Smith's hiding hole is overrun with snakes.
Moules-frites, mon repas favorit!
Btw I grew up near Weymss.
❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍

Justice
This reminds me WHY HAS ERIC HOLDER NOT BEEN PROSECUTED ?
