J6 American Nightmare: Lt. Col. Larry Brock, Part Two
The Netflix documentary "American Nightmare" sheds light on the destructive combination of corrupt law enforcement and unaccountable news media. J6ers have their own horrifying stories to tell.
This is part two of a guest post written by January 6 defendant Larry Brock, who was recently released from federal prison on nonviolent charges related to his participation in the Capitol protest. (Part one is here.)
Brock is a retired Lieutenant Colonel for the Air Force; he graduated from the Air Force Academy and went on to pilot the A-10 for more than 20 years in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria.
As more J6ers are released from jail, I plan to use my platform to help share their stories with you and the public so the American people can begin to understand the cruelty, vengefulness, and inhumanity of the legal/judicial/penal system weaponized against them and how the media only exacerbates the torment.
I woke up early on the 29th of May 2023 and told my girlfriend a final goodbye. It was Memorial Day, and I was aware that this day is intended to honor our dead and not for surviving veterans. Little did I know when I entered the Springfield Gulag, that there would be those who would act to enable that ultimate sacrifice.
After in-processing, I was placed into solitary pending a test for COVID. I had committed to be on a hunger strike until then House Speaker Kevin McCarthy released all of the January 6 tapes and I remained true to this hunger strike.
On the fourth day, when I was released from solitary, I began to experience dizziness. I called home later and received heartening news that Speaker McCarthy had agreed to release the J6 tapes to news outlets. I was uncertain whether to continue the hunger strike or stop, so instead I opted for a third path which was to slowly starve. Over the next three months, I lost sixty-six pounds, but other circumstances conspired to finally end this.
The Bureau of Prisons (BOP) designates most J6ers as domestic terrorists and this makes life much harder inside prison. Fortunately, my prison was located in the “red state” of Missouri and many guards identified themselves to me as “MAGA patriots.”
The prison administration was decidedly the opposite. Captain Justin Leoniwicz, a man who labels himself to inmates as “The Reaper,” told a fellow J6 political prisoner, “I don’t want any of your political bullshit in my prison.” Regrettably for me, one of the Captain’s subordinates was about to personally upgrade my sentence from time in a low custody prison to super max prison time.
The Hole
Prior to entering Springfield, I asked a lifelong friend to manage my Twitter account. In a tweet posted on August 1, I announced the formation of the 5th Allied Political Prisoner of War Wing (PPOW) and as the senior ranking officer, I issued the following guidance:
1. Establish a chain of command in your gulag and ensure accountability of all J6 political prisoners.
2. Maintain the morale and cohesion of all patriots held in political captivity and use this stolen time to educate yourself to the max extent possible.
3. Adhere to the Code of Conduct. Do not break faith with your fellow patriots or make statements disloyal to President Trump.
4. Keep your heads up, you are not criminals. Follow the rules of the Commandant of the Gulag you are unjustly imprisoned in.
5. Trust in God and the American people to deliver you from the actions of this illegitimate administration and its weaponized justice system.
For the post above, I was placed in the segregated housing unit also known as “the hole.” A month later, a prison officer in an interview stated that the formation of the 5th Allied PPOW wing was tantamount to forming a prison gang. He then filed an incident report stating, “Brock has continued to relay his beliefs that J6 inmates are political prisoners being persecuted by the government and therefore are being incarcerated unjustly. Brock has continued to advocate for various family, friends, inmates, and J6 supporters to promote and support this idea and cause… [these] attempts to organize a following behind his cause jeopardize the...safety and security of the correctional facility.”
After being in the hole for 81 days, the disciplinary hearing officer dismissed the charge of trying to organize a gang as patently ridiculous but did find me guilty of a catchall charge of “using email to disrupt the orderly operation of the institution.”
Normally after this hearing a prisoner is released back into the general population, but I was not. A MAGA guard (who will remain anonymous) told me he was gravely concerned for my safety, as the Springfield Administration was attempting to have me transferred to the Communications Management Unit (CMU) in Terre Haute. This prison is heavily populated by Islamic terrorists and other notorious prisoners such as American Taliban John Walker Lindh, and Somali pirate Abduwali Abdukhadir Muse.
Those days in the hole were the worst of my life. Twenty-three hours a day in a cell and only one hour out, is a horrific punishment. During this time, a man with severe psychological problems who was also prone to violent outbursts against staff was placed in my cell.
Every day, I asked staff to separate us because I did not feel safe, but only after a particularly virulent outburst was he taken away for psychiatric observation. Celling dangerous and mentally ill inmates with inmates disliked by prison authority is a repeat of inmate abuse from Captain Leoniwicz’ previous assignment.
After 127 days, I was released from the hole. Still the administration was not finished punishing me. The Patriot Mail Project directs mail from American citizens to each J6 patriot in Biden’s gulags and these letters boost morale. On December 8, Warden Eric Williams restricted all of my correspondence with the American people.
When Abid Naseer, an actual member of Al Queda, arrived in Springfield, he was placed in a bunk less than 6 feet from mine. The odds of this being random are less than one percent and only when numerous guards called and demanded he be moved was he put him on a different floor.
Sentence Reductions
In the meantime, my attorney Charles Burnham submitted a written appeal of my conviction in June. We appealed the 1512 (c)(2) felony charge of obstruction of an official proceeding and a three-point sentencing enhancement for obstructing a judicial proceeding given to me and over 100 fellow J6ers.
In March, the appellate court vacated the three-point sentencing enhancement and remanded my case for re-sentencing. Additionally, Congress passed a law giving prisoners with zero prior criminal history a two-point reduction to their sentencing guideline. I qualified for this as well.
These two reductions dropped my sentencing guideline from 24-30 months to 10-12 months. If the felony conviction is overturned, the sentencing guideline would be further reduced to 0-6 months. However, mu judge stated in an order that regardless of the outcome of Fischer v USA (the felony obstruction case awaiting the Supreme Court ruling) he is going to give me a 16-month sentence. This will result in a change from the bottom of the old sentencing guideline to over two and a half times above the new sentencing guideline. Normally, a defendant with only non-violent misdemeanors and no criminal history would not even serve any time in jail.
With additional earned reductions, the 16-month sentence the court has indicated it will impose was completed as of April 1. By August 20, I will have fully served the entirety of the original two-year sentence and will derive zero benefit from the felony being overturned by the appellate court’s ruling and Congress changing the law.
I am extremely grateful to my attorney Charles Burnham as his work in the appellate court has saved countless families endless grief and suffering. Unfortunately, attorneys are not awarded medals, but he deserves one.
Secondary Damage from Political Persecution
Besides the legal impact from these prosecutions, J6 patriots have also endured loss of careers, destruction of marriages, loss of personal savings, alienation from children and extended family, and many other ramifications. The primary cause of many of these extra-judicial punishments is Christopher Wray’s labeling J6 protesters as domestic terrorists.
I fought for this country for over 18 years on Middle-Eastern battlefields, yet I am designated as a terrorist by the government I served. This label empowered the Federal Aviation Administration to revoke my airline transport pilot license. Prior to J6, I was a 737 Captain and the FAA seizing my licenses destroyed a career it took a lifetime to build.
As a “domestic terrorist,” bank accounts have been canceled and I am unable to get new credit. These extra-judicial punishments are additional to the loss of the rights to vote and to bear arms, and the loss of state-issued professional licenses. The most grievous impact on my life however was to be felt by my friends and family.
They say when you enter prison, you go alone, but that is not true. Your family enters with you, and along with incarceration, J6 families endure seeing every aspect of their loved one’s life twisted by a media hell-bent on narrative creation regardless of truth.
My daughter for whom I sacrificed immensely will no longer speak with me and my nine-year-old son has been kept from his father and grandparents for over three years by my vengeful ex-wife and a local judge who believes the media lies.
I also lost my girlfriend whom I deeply loved. She is employed in the defense industry, and Wray’s designation of J6 patriots and specifically my label as a domestic terrorist, led to the government refusing to grant her the security clearance she needed for her career. She is a single mom with four children and by leaving me, she put her children first, as she should and as a man I must put her needs above mine.
What Now?
It is hard to withstand the onslaught of a politically weaponized DOJ and a media determined to destroy you and control the narrative. I am extremely grateful that I was prepared in childhood by learning Texas wisdom from my grandfather. “Know who you are, do what is right, and don’t listen to others if you know you are correct with The Man upstairs even if the whole world hates you.” To those Americans who still hate me, who call me a traitor, and who think I should be hanged, I forgive you. To the guards who kept me safe while imprisoned in the Springfield Gulag, you have my eternal gratitude and my charge to protect the remaining J6ers there.
Although I am anxious to begin to restore my life and for a return to peace in my native Texas, duty and honor demand that I delay my wishes and serve to liberate my fellow J6ers by working in any capacity necessary to ensure the reelection of President Donald J. Trump and to make America great again.

I can scarcely believe what I’m reading, and yet it’s not difficult to believe as it’s consistent with the generally rising level of viciousness that is apparent in our country and in which our leftist dominated government happily participates. The same pathological ideologues running the prison system will likely be picked to run the internment/death camps that will inevitably be set up for the Jews. Think that’s over the top? You’re just not paying attention. I don’t even recognize this country anymore.

This hit me and I could not help but think that it was the most important posting made to J6er’s
Mr Brock is a military man The military teaches you things you don’t learn in the world. Many of the J6ers have no military training and the most important thing needed to survive in war when unjustly imprisoned is guidance principals.
The world may have stripped Larry Brock of his titles and all his possessions, but the man he is can be seen in the words he shared with us.
