Great post, Julie!👍 Martin is clearly hovering over the target, given the amount of artillery being fired at him. While it’s nice to see many of the scoundrels losing their jobs, it’s critical that some of them be prosecuted, impoverished and incarcerated for lengthy periods of time. Devils 😈 like them must be treated like the cancers they’ve become and total destruction is the best option.

He definitely is. I've known Ed for years, even before his advocacy for Jan 6, so I know he means business. Once he's confirmed, I think things will really start to happen.

You know, should Mr. Martin not make it through confirmation, appointment as a SPECIAL COUNSEL / SPECIAL PROSECUTOR would, I think, be a stellar alternative for his time and talents.

Julie Kelly's avatar

Tom, I sort of agree, but a special counsel is fraught with problems starting with the fact Judge Cannon dismissed the docs case based on the unconstitutional appointment of Jack Smith. Those same statutes would likely be used to justify a Trump adm SC.

Trump DOJ has enough talent and grit at the top to conduct all the investigations we need. I am assuming some are already underway. For now, fingers crossed Ed gets confirmed

If Mr. Martin fails to be confirmed we can look to the Republicans on the judiciary committee, John Thune in is capacity as majority leader and the usual list of RINO’s who have their dirty hands in. Cookie jar or two or are like Susan Collins just functioning with very low IQ. Time will tell. Let’s hope the Republicans can get him confirmed.

I agree. The usual suspects, McConnell, Collins, and Murkowski, all need to put America first for a change.

I also heard Murkowski, Tillis, and Cassidy might be nos. We need to keep the pressure up and oust those who vote against him.

Ah yes, the usual suspects! I am shocked, shocked to find there is gambling going on in this place!" "Your winnings Sir." "Oh Thank you." Are there two more transparent narcissist's besides Cassidy and Tillis. Murkowski and Collins are just low IQ functionaries. Tillis and Cassidy need their ego's stroked every minute of every day. They don't care about Mr. Martin's political or other views and qualifications. They just want the White House and Trump to give them an hour to draw a crowd so the crowd can watch as the White House smooches their backsides. Look up the word "creep" in the Pictionary and you will see Tillis and Cassidy's mug shots.

Yes, keep the pressure up Ms. Kelly! Don't let them breathe! Great work on a story currently lost in the mayhem of day to day DC antics.

It’s would be laughable except for the disastrous consequences to the 1600 J6 victims that the crooks Shiff & Schumer are complaining about the weaponized DOJ.

Expand full comment
Julie Kelly's avatar

Richard, there must be consequences for the unlawful prosecution and imprisonment of all J6ers but especially those charged with 1512c2. I do not think there is anything comparable in DOJ history--it cannot be memoryholed.

The gallows await Boasberg, Monaco, Graves and Garland. After indictments, trials, convictions, and public outcry of course.

At least indictments and jail time, just like they so eagerly demanded for J6ers, Trump, Navarro, Bannon, pro-lifers, etc.

Aaron Zelinsky, who resigned from the DOJ on January 10 and later whined on social media that he was “furious, heartbroken, and disappointed at what the President and his appointees are doing to

DOJ,” YOU MEAN CLEANING IT UP???

More than 100 former employees of the office just signed on to a letter opposing Martin’s confirmation.

WHO CARES???

The truth needs to come out. The 99% of the J6ers that were nonviolent should have never seen any prison time. These corrupt judges and prosecutors should get a taste of their own medicine.

Between this, the lies over covid, and the 208 weekends at Bernie's, our country, and our freedoms have taken a hit that will take years to recover from especially when so many like Satin's uglier twin brother, Phony Tony, received pardons.

Where is the justice?

These judges are no better than Hannah Dugan (Wisconsin) helping illegals to evade ICE. There needs to be some real accountability and it sounds like Ed Martin is the man for the job.

Also--we are supposed to have a new subcommittee under House Judiciary to continue the investigation into Jan 6. Where is it? My understanding is the subcommittee has not even been brought to the floor for a vote. Ninety percent of Republicans just wish Jan 6 would go away--I am encouraged by Sens. Grassley and Johnson continuing to demand answers.

And also courageous and fearless. That's Ed. He also is close to many J6ers so he knows firsthand what they and their families have been through--and as a faithful man, Ed wants justice on their behalf.

Thanks for this update on the this very important nomination, Julie. Those who were responsible for the destruction of so many families connected to J6 need to be held to account for their involvement is that travesty of justice. Of course, what we who support President Trump call accountability for their actions will be portrayed as vengeance by the Marxist-Activist-Journalist-Propagandists who inhabit the incestuous cesspool inside Moscow-on-the-Potomac. It's simply jaw dropping that so many of the Marxist-Demos in Congress, whether in the House of Representatives of in the Senate, claim to be fearful of President Trump's administration "weaponizing the Department of Justice!" Especially such an execrable creature as A. Schiff, considering the hijinks to which he gave so much energy during the Ruskie-Ruskie Hoax, not to mention the unconstitutional prosecution of J6'ers and the unconstitutional persecution/prosecution of Donald J. Trump. Keep us the good work of informing us about these extremely important matters.

Martin is the single greatest DOJ appointment of Trump 2.0.

Bondi, Homan, Patel, Bongino - they all could get there. Especially with fewer Fox hits, less talk and more action.

But Martin has been dogged in his efforts, from Day 1. And hasn't backed down an inch.

He'd actually make a great AG.

Fortunately he has a lot of power in that office and obviously support from the higher ups at DOJ. To your point, Michael, I am anxiously awaiting some big news from Main Justice and FBI on investigations, indictments we want.
