DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas just submitted an internal report on DHS/USSS role in January 6 but not before Democrats and media tried to oust the man conducting the investigation.
After months of delay, Mayorkas has finally released a long-awaited report on the Secret Service’s handling of the events of January 6. The findings by DHS Inspector General Joseph Cuffari are not yet public, but I have reviewed portions of the document and will report more when it is widely released.
Suffice to say, however, there is overlap between January 6 and the attempted assassination of Donald Trump on July 13. Further, the conduct of Secret Service brass particularly former director Kim Cheatle and her replacement Ronald Rowe since the tragedy has done nothing to inspire confidence that the agency will cooperate with other investigations or conduct a thorough, comprehensive inquiry on its own.
Rowe became indignant during his Senate testimony this week when asked why no one had been fired. In a shouting match with Senator Josh Hawley on Tuesday, Rowe insisted he would not put his “thumb” on the scale of any internal investigation or allow his employees to be “persecuted.”
IG Cuffari is no stranger to that type of hubris. As I explain in my newest article for RCI, Democrats—including the chair of the January 6 Select Committee—and the media have targeted Cuffari for at least two years while thwarting his attempts for records and answers related to January 6.
Is this the same sort of obstinacy and arrogance Congress and others can expect related to July 13?

I always chuckle when I hear Trump and his populist movement referred to as a cult. More projection. There’s nothing more cultish than the elitist administrative state that behaves like an inbred, dysfunctional family that feverishly works to keep its skeletons in the closet lest the public discover their secrets and dirty tricks. Luckily, Trump’s persistent defiance is eroding their cover day by day allowing the country to see them for what are. The peddlers of “democracy” have totally abandoned the democratic process, displaying utter contempt for the citizenry as they attempt to rule solely through chicanery and deception.
