I wanted to share my newest article for Real Clear. Recent claims by AG Merrick Garland and Matthew Graves—I am working on a separate Substack piece about his laughable “60 Minutes” interview aired on Sunday—that the Department of Justice is impartial and doesn’t interfere in elections are easily contradicted by the DOJ’s own record.
Here are a few clips from Garland’s speech to the US Attorneys’ conference in DC last week:
Here, Garland makes more unsubstantiated claims that prosecutors and DOJ employees are under constant threat. What constitutes a threat? Promoting “conspiracy theories.”
If Mitch McConnell did one thing for this nation it was to keep this man off the Supreme Court
Could AG Garland please explain it to us-
Why does Hillary Clinton get to smash her phones and computers when they under subpoena by Congress and not be tried for destruction of evidence?
Why is Eric Holder not put on trial for Contempt of Congress, but Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro are?
Why is Mike Flynn put on trial for lying to the FBI during a "friendly" unsworn interview, but Andrew McCabe lies to the FBI under oath three times and escapes punishment?
Why is Trump put on trial for holding classified docs, but Biden, who never had the authority to have those docs outside of a SCIF, had them in his garage and escaped legal consequences.
You know why. There are two standards of justice in this country- one for those connected to the Democratic Party, and a different one for all the rest of us.
And Garland is the one driving it.
