Great update, Julie. 👍 The prosecution and, hopefully, incarceration of Smith and his henchmen can’t come soon enough.

Thank you! I am still waiting for charges against Windom for contempt of Congress--that referral was sent to DOJ in November (I think.) Of course, we all know what's happening in DC grand juries so it may be unlikely we see an indictment. Maybe Congress should hold interviews outside of DC next time...

Julie, perhaps you can research and tell us when the New York Appeal cases against PDJT will exonerate him, and return his almost $500 million bond he had to post even to appeal that outrageous Leticia James case? It has already over a year since Ce that appeal was heard. Thanks

Julie Kelly's avatar

Hi Michael - I am not sure, they can drag this out as long as they'd like.

I'm surprised Cannon hasn't thrown Smith into jail for blatant contempt of her order to cease working on the case. He must think he operates under different rules than everybody else.

Julie Kelly's avatar

Hi Jeffery - Cannon was looking into contempt during the proceedings in Florida. She was ready to lay down the hammer on Smith and his team--as I wrote after she dismissed the case, she did Smith and his thugs a huge favor.

And yet here we are and he is out and about.

Julie Kelly's avatar

Yep. Very frustrating.

Thanks Julie! Will recent discovery of documents indicating the Biden White House was heavily involved in the unconstitutional raid on Mar-Largo result in indictments? As you stated “Judge Cannon’s latest opinion gives House Republicans more fodder to pursue charges against the former special counsel “. My question giving House Republicans past history will they continue doing nothing with the exception of hearings or will they finally decide to actually do what the American people want and prosecute the tyrant Smith and those who perpetrated this entire attack on President Trump? With mid terms fast approaching I am hoping we see justice for once.

Julie Kelly's avatar

I just don't know what is happening. Obviously, Pirro's office is having a hell of a time getting DC GJ indictments there. And of course no impeachment proceedings against a single judge. Time is indeed ticking away.

With everything Weaponized against Donald Trump in the deep state, I believe they still have a huge hold on what goes on.

Nothing will happen to Jack Smith. The Congress is powerless, the current DOJ stilled filled with anti Trump and anti American “lawyers” who are advocates for a society 80% of America don’t want. But the levers of power that need to be exercised sit idle or protect a mean spirited old grifter who resembles Yertle the Turtle and his panicked professional staff all in on the grift. So Jack Smith gives the middle finger to judge Cannon and Congress. Come and get me, he sneers “I am the law” trained by Louis XIV “I am the State” Jack Smith the “Sun King.” We can only hope that similar to France this group of petty despots like Smith and his cohorts are indeed marched off to the Bastille to await their fate. Don’t hold your breath everyone, we are about to watch 2026 and the republicans snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Then it’s back to the future. Impeach, convict and evict will be the campaign slogans of the cycle. Maybe a grand jury in Florida made up of silent Americans will make a difference, we can only hope. Time will tell.

I share your pessimism, Charles. The willful impotence of the Republicans in Washington gets more frustrating by the day. Now Thune is figuring out a trick to make sure the SAVE Act doesn't pass while trying to make it look like he did something. It's all so disheartening--while the president is the only who keeps fighting and taking the punches.

Charles Wemyss, Jr.'s avatar

As a Marine Infantry Officer way back in the day, we would say Trump set an “L” shaped ambush last night and the Dems walked right into it. Which now also leaves Thune with little option. Either he stands with the President as he did last night or he sits with th Dems as they did last night. All the Dems had to do was stand up for 30 seconds and they couldn’t or wouldn’t or both. A week is a lifetime in politics but some close races for the Dems just got a lot closer. Chris Pappas thought he would sail into the Senate of Shaheen’s coat tails. Not after last night. John E. Sununu’s chances got much better in a purple state. A flicker of hope…that’s all we need!

02/27/26: Every single day, Thune becomes more apparent as the rat he is. The Low-IQuintessential Swamp Thing.

Despite thinking that looking suave and professional would be all the camouflage he'd need, Trump has smoked him out.

If it’s a clear case why is he still walking around unpunished?

Partisan DC grand jury. Partisan hack judges in DC. Weak Republicans in Congress. That's about all I can think of.

Jack(ass) Smith has again broken the law. His action is similar to a person presented a gag order by a court, and then proceeding to violate that order.

Regarding those other two "organizations" stepping in to Smith's fight and demanding the report be made public: Just look at how much of a fuss the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files created. In both cases, we have raw interview materials, many of which have not even met the standard of admissible evidence in any court of law. We also have irrelevant work product, since the case had been squelched by the presiding judge. We also have statements against defendants, for whom the charges were already dismissed. For these, and other reasons, there should be no right for this illegitimate information to be in the public view.

My personal opinion about Smith is that, after he is arrested and prosecuted for his criminal behavior, that he is given the appropriate public treatment of being hung by his ankles from a 12-foot-high bar so he can be pelted with rotten vegetables by the public hecklers before he is hauled off to prison to serve his sentence, which should be long and dreary.

KEVIN how do you really feel, LOL.

Wow Julie, This is Great News The question is Where will this lead ? At this point we can only hope

Julie Kelly's avatar

We can only hope, Sharon. All we can do is keeping pointing out his criminality and corruption and hope the proper authorities act accordingly.

I love that you follow this for us Julie! Smith is such an odious man!

Julie Kelly's avatar

Thank you Holly--and yes, he, like Lisa Monaco, are a permanent stain on this country's top law enforcement agency. Hard to overstate the amount of damage they did.

Teresa Maupin's avatar

"Smith’s sustained and intentional violation of an historic court order represents one more reason why he belongs in handcuffs." But, Julie, he goes to Hollywood film festivals and rides a bicycle!!

Don't forget--HE IS AN IRONMAN!

Thanks for this fascinating piece, Julie, because this is something that flew under my radar until just now. Although I would love to see justice delivered to that execrable attorney (whose name shall be ignored), I am certain that nobody involved in all of the unconstitutional lawfare against President Trump will actually suffer any type of consequences for their behavior. I wish it were going to happen but I am not naive enough to expect it.

Julie Kelly's avatar

You are welcome, Karlan! I will keep tabs on this in the unlikely event something actually happens.

Hi Julie,

The judges seeking contrmpt against the Trump DoJ are all hard working, honest, and straight shooting jurists. All were appointed by legitimate presidents such as the Austrian language expert, Obama, and 81 million vote no fraud to see here Biden. There is not so much as a partison capillary in any of their bodies. Cannon, on the other hand, was appointed by an illegitimate president. Therefore, she is not a real judge, just a partisan Trump lackey there to do his bidding. So, any ruling coming from that bench is hopelessly tainted. I hope this clears it up for you, and of course I am always available should you have further questions.

Julie Kelly's avatar

Haha thank you, Pat, for clearing that up! It is really amusing to see the same reporters, influencers, and "legal experts" condemn Cannon for her very reasoned judgment (and justified criticism of Smith and Co) while cheering hundreds of other judges for their brazen politicking.

Pat Smith's avatar

Anytime Julie. I'm always here to help.

Julie I am going to hit you with a more optimistic view. I am convinced that DOJ is about to bring the hammer down. They obviously know Washington or New York are cesspools for grand juries. I think Florida is about to get a majority of these cases. After all most have to do with President Trump and his home is in Florida.

Thank you for all you do!

I think the information you often provide, Julie, should be seen by more people.

I would like to see a https://www.realclearinvestigations.com article about Jack Smith prominently displayed on https://www.realclearpolitics.com.
