That Chicagoans put up with this says a lot about the Democrat mentality these days. At the State of the Union they took off the mask and admitted they choose illegal aliens over American citizens.
And Chicagoans apparently are OK with that, even as the former put the latter in the morgue.
When you admit into your city the worst elements of a Latin American favella, don't be surpised when your city turns into a Latin American favella. At least the garbage media is consistent. They cheered for the admittance of this element, and now they are cheering the results.
Great article and even greater that it ran in Real Clear Politics because maybe, just maybe, it will make readers angry at the complete abdication of Chicago’s local media’s responsibility to report this obviously newsworthy story. It would be newsworthy even if it was just Jane Doe shot by John Doe. Where was the live news conference on Sheridan’s killing, or the daily live press conference update by the police chief, like we see with other shootings, or even missing persons? A FATAL shooting on one of this tourist city’s landmarks is news all day long no matter who was killed. This is so similar to Laken Riley’s killing in Georgia, where they tried their best to minimize that it was an illegal alien that stalked and killed her. The left cries non-stop over two Minnesota protesters who died obstructing police, but we hear not a word about Sheridan Gorman until well after her untimely death…or the many, many other American citizens killed at the hands of these illegal criminals. The public trust that journalists like to claim will be forever denied them if they keep up this kind of (non) reporting, but they can’t seem to figure that out.
Julie - spot on piece. You are doing your part with your increasing louder megaphone to publicize issues like this, but apart from that, the bigger question is what are you and your fellow Chicagoans going to do about it? Same goes for Dem-dominated city dwellers across the country.

It is pretty clear that Chicagoans and New Yorkers cannot vote their way out of these problems. Voting with your feet is unfortunately an attractive solution, as it increasingly clear that you are in the wrong place at the wrong time. And we all only have a short time on this planet.
If any of you live in Chicago, write letters to the editor(s) of all those "news outlets" and publicize the death of this latest innocent. Don't rise to the bait of "you all hate immigrants/people of color/the poor" etc. Instead use your passion to raise the visibility of this young woman's life, tragically ended too soon.

To those that love the argument "that studies have proven that the rate of illegal immigrant crime is less than that of citizens", I ask, "If that alleged perpetrator was not allowed in the country, would the innocent victim be alive today?"

However, and regrettably, are we surprised by this intentional dismissal of the murder of another female college student by an illegal alien by the appointed Marxist-Activist-Journalists-Propagandists? Plus, the use of the phrase "undocumented immigrant" speaks volumes about the importance of bastardizing the language, doesn't it? Especially considering that all federal statutes use the phrase "illegal alien." To any sentient being, the fact that the above-mentioned Marxist-Activist-Journalists-Propagandists, aided and abetted by the Marxists-Wearing-Black-Robes, have gone out of their way to protect the Marxist-Demo-Party's voter registration drive should be sufficient for most voters with a brain stem to vote Republican, don't you think? Julie I have a question. The Dems and their voters have a huge amount of NGOs who are continually suing for this or that. Why do conservatives not have NGOs helping conservative victims suing the crap out of the city for their responsibility in these murders. Are the Dems that much more organized??
