Our Judicial System is in shambles and is in desperate need of reform. Getting a fair trial in DC for a conservative is virtually impossible. DC’s court system should be abolished amd should cease to exist. Several so called unbiased federal judges have made donations to democrats and they rule for their party. Judges should never be allowed to contribute to any political party period!! If the Judicial system continues down this path our country is doomed.

Julie, on this you and I are completely aligned.

Where are Republican legislators? Maybe, if the voters who elect them are lucky, they'll take a look at these judges' behavior in 3, 4, 5 years. They hope their party will lose majorities so they don't have to deal with the unpleasantness.

In keeping w/ your piece here, Powerline Blog published a piece this morning by Bill Shipley, aka ShipwreckedCrew, who writes a couple of informative blogs from his perspective as a former Assistant US DA. My summarized version- the DOJ was deporting illegals who committed violent crimes in the US to third countries when their home country refused to accept them. The DOJ relied on a statute allowing such deportations, and which included a provision that such deportations WERE NOT SUBJECT TO DISTRICT COURT LEGAL REVIEW. But... the district court judge made a ruling anyway, based on his judgment the deportee was not being provided due process.

In short - judges can always find a pretense not to follow the law, if they so choose.

It's egregiously wrong. But don't expect Republican elected officials to lift a finger to do anything about it.

What good are they?

Just for kicks, I went to a No Kings rally today with a Judge Jeb Boasberg sign, protesting his kingly actions.

One is left to wonder what will happen to the dystopian septuagenarian and octogenarian cohort mad with rage over Orangeman Bad and his evil followers after the election results lead to all the Republican rascals being thrown out and replaced with “real” Americans and “our” democracy. As their cannabis gummies and blood thinners hit new levels of ingestion, the fever dream of Trump, impeached, convicted, jailed and publicly executed will accelerate. The judges? In DC? Will feel ever more empowered, a nut bag like Reyes will now take on weighty matters like the federal budget, and order the imprisonment of the justices on the Supreme Court. It will all go according to plan until they run out of people to blame for all their emotional problems and physical ailments. $40 trillion in national debt is a real number, it makes silva culture at a golf course seem like a small matter for a golf course superintendent after all. Then what? We can hope that we are around to watch the “No Kings” crowd turn on one another. It will make Stalin Soviet show trials look like paddy cake. Imagine the open toed Birkenstock and tie dyed shirt crowd getting rough with one another! Those tennis balls cut in half acting as stoppers aka “brakes” on their walkers could be problematic in a bun fight. To quote a famous Mayor of Chicago 58 years ago “The police are not here to create disorder, they’re here to preserve disorder…” only in this case we can thank Mayor Daley and paraphrase his thoughts, “The federal judiciary is here to preserve the disorder and make sure there is plenty more where it came from.” To repeat the old line, the only justice in the halls of justice is in the halls. It is understood that there are more guns than population in the lower 48, never bring a cut tennis ball or a whacky judge to a real gun fight, or try to reason with a tired 3 year old…you’ll lose every time. We shall see if the Republican Party can find someone besides George Babbitt and the other 5 fat white guys named Chuck to take on the challenge restoring the disorder Mayor Daley envisioned. Hang on to your ball cap, we are almost at the top of splash mountain and the pneumatic brakes on our log have failed. Keep up the good work Ms. Kelly, there is a lot coming our way to report on, this last several years have been the warm up.
