Julie Kelly is right to keep hammering Jack Smith’s reach. As a journalist, I’m particularly disturbed by the collection of reporters’ exchanges with government sources. Where are the press-freedom champions when the prosecutor pursuing Trump collects those communications? Trump’s victory gave this machinery an adversary in the White House. Good. Smith’s invocations of the “rule of law” don’t answer the disclosures. Investigate the decisions, establish responsibility, and prosecute any crimes the evidence actually supports.
The false predicate for Smith’s anti-Republican fishing expedition is his repeated claim, asserted as fact, that there was an attempt to prevent the peaceful transfer of power. There was no such attempt and there is no evidence of such an attempt, let alone evidence that Trump participated in one.
The Trump supporters at the J6 rally were there to voice their support for a legal review of evidence that suggested that the transfer of power from Trump to Biden would not be legitimate. To this day, that evidence has not been fully reviewed. I hope that that reckoning is coming.
A new jail is in order, to house many of the members of Jack(ass) Smith's team of marauders. It could also house Chris Wray and Lisa Monaco, too; they are deserving of severe punishment. And we can't forget Merrick Garland.
After reflecting upon this, I don't think a new jail is in order. Just stick them where the government housed the protesters from J6.
The problem I see with Gitmo is that everybody will know that he's there. And we've had to tolerate a bunch of whiners that keep wanting it closed, and all the prisoners brought back here.

Like J. Edgar Hoover, Smith knew that he was looking for anything and everything to coerce or rather blackmail members of Congress into doing the Biden administration’s work to destroy Donald Trump, MAGA, and any one who dared to disagree with them. The typical DC investigations result in some obscure person under Smith is deemed responsible and fined or sent to jail (or offered cashless bail) while Smith himself roams free and offered lucrative book deals or a top spot in some Democrat company. This how Washington has operated for decades and will for decades more. As an example, look at the Clinton Foundation scams, uranium one, and Haiti yet she also roams free to spend her ill-gotten wealth.
The only ones penalized in all this is the American citizen forced at gunpoint to pay for the grift and damage to the country. And on it goes!
