Is it legal for Jack Smith to provide Trump’s tweets to the news media? Isn’t that creating a double standard? Trump isn’t allowed to discuss his cases. Remember, all citizens that are voters are victims too. It creates a highly biased system.

I finished reading https://graphics.latimes.com/utah-sting/ before I saw Julie's new essay. The heavy-handed over-reach of government people with too much power has a familiar pattern.

Most corporations of size are incorporated in Delaware and maintain a service address there, available in a variety of public databases. So serving a search warrant by throwing it in the driveway (effectively what they did) probably won't hold up. But there is no remedy for material already disclosed. Smith has it, it's electronic and seizure after the fact makes no difference.

It's clear Smith's goal isn't winning at trial. It's just keeping Trump's name continuously in negative press coverage. More ammunition for that objective was needed.

One question I have: was the phone used during his presidency issued by the government? Likely that means some direct messages could contain classified information.

Meanwhile the TIPP polling done for the NYT that dove into deep crosstab analysis reveals why this is happening: support for Democrats lies with white college graduates and the overlapping highest earning quintile. The party is bleeding support everywhere else. What an irony for the party that billed itself for decades as the home of the working stiff.

I continue to be amazed by the response of the right on all these issues you report on. The reaction is “look at the cool meme that Catturd put up” while the left is stepping on their throats. Astounding!
