This is a wonderful and encouraging report 😊

He continues to pick up speed and his opponents are definitely on their heels. Timing is everything in politics and Pratt seems to have hit the sweet spot!

05/12/26: That it is. My Julie Subscription just paid for itself in one evening!

California is so far gone that --- assuming that the thieves will be in power FOREVER --- we now found it hard to believe that a city's mayor --- directly responsible for 12 deaths and 17,000 homes burning to the ground --- could LOSE her re-election bid.

What we should be screaming about is that she actually has the brass balls to RUN for re-election.

Send her back to Ghana, ASAP. One-way ticket. Wait, save the gas money. Parachute her out over Havana. Tell her that the plane is rehearsing water-drops on future forest fires in the Caribbean.

Julie Kelly's avatar

HAHA Thank you Don so much for subscribing! And let's keep praying that Angelenos are fed up enough to make a major change.

I'm pulling for Spencer Pratt, all the from Texas. I even donated to his campaign. He's got the mojo, the energy, and he's tapped into the anger and frustration felt by LA citizens. I think we're going to see a Trump-like victory.

ron's avatar

I donated, as well, from Virginia. I usually don't contribute to out-of-state races, but I couldn't resist his.

Julie Kelly's avatar

Great news! He will need every penny to defeat the establishment.

I donated $50 for Pratt's Lakers font hat.

Cara Wakefield's avatar

I should have gotten the hat!

Julie Kelly's avatar

This is great news, Cara, thank you! I bet he's getting donations from across the country--the world--to make this happen.

JC's avatar

Me, too! I donated from Colorado!

Spencer Pratt is such a breath of fresh air, surprisingly agile on the debate stage and smart enough to call out Bass and Raman on their obvious failures of governance. It’s great TV. You zero in (as you always do!) with smart analysis on his message of hope and the possibility of real change from the failing blue city policies of the past few decades. I really hope he wins. I may donate to his campaign even though I don’t live in LA. Beyond his clever and effective ads, he presents as a normal citizen who actually and truly cares about his city. Bass and Raman and their ilk do NOT care, except about winning and power. Maybe this will be the race where common sense actually comes into play and voters land Spencer Pratt in the mayor’s office!

Julie Kelly's avatar

Thank you, Holly! I know for a fact Democrats in blue cities where a Dem mayor is up for re-election are panicked about this candidacy. We sort of saw this in the late 1980s, early 1990s when voters started electing Republicans or conservative Dems (like Daley in Chicago) to clean up their cities.

War Eagle's avatar

He will win only if Californians think it has gotten bad enough for them to vote for a republican. I truly hope that is the case, unlike NY where it does not appear it’s bad enough. I truly hope he wins along with Hilton! California at one time was a great state.

Julie Kelly's avatar

Useful to remember that Mamdani did not win by a huge margin--and buyers remorse by the lib white women probably already sinking in. His management will only worsen over time. But again, I don't think NYC--since it's so spread out, too--is as bad as LA or certainly Chicago.

K Tucker Andersen's avatar

If Mamdami continues his reality clueless moves NYC may be bad enough for a Republican to win the next election if a Pratt clone runs.

War Eagle's avatar

Absolutely agree, that is exactly how Giuliani won, crime was rampant and the city was deplorable

Pnoldguy's avatar

As long as democrats count the votes there will be no Republican winners.

Julie Kelly's avatar

This is a legit concern. But thank God we have an aggressive DOJ to investigate or even halt it before it starts.

Brent Bach's avatar

I'll bet you're a ton of fun at a funeral.

Carolyn's avatar

Praying for him

Valoree Dowell's avatar

I just donated too. Everyone chip in! Even 10 bucks. Donations from across the country tell the Basses of the world, well, you know. Momentum! We need it!

Julie Kelly's avatar

Every dollar counts!

Julie, I appreciate this piece on Spencer Pratt and his attempt to wrest away the position of mayor for Los Angeles! I have watched snippets of his debate with the two Marxists, Bass and Raman, and his demeanor and grasp of the issues were impressive, no doubt. And his ostensible connection with Steve Hilton's campaign for governor of California apparently has given a boost to his mayoral campaign, also. But I certainly am not going to count my chickens quite yet because those bozos on the LeftCoast in the Land-of-Fruits-and-Nuts have voted precisely for the policies which have destroyed a once proud city and state. I don't mean to sound negative but I don't think either one has a snowball's chance in hell to win their respective elections. I pray that I am wrong but you can knock me over with a feather if either one of these men are victorious.

Julie Kelly's avatar

I don't think you're being unnecessarily negative just pragmatic. We know the corruption and fraud is so deep in blue states and cities that they will try every trick in the book to retain power. Should be a wild ride.

Rev. Karlan Fairchild, MDiv's avatar

If this happens, perhaps it will be the first step in rescuing a once-great state, but I still won't bet the farm that it actually will occur.

Brent Bach's avatar

I plucked a feather from a virtual eagle and I hope I get the chance to push you over with it. 🤣🇺🇸

Rev. Karlan Fairchild, MDiv's avatar

Nothing would bring greater enjoyment...better hang onto that feather.

Orenv's avatar

Some have voted blue no matter who, but I think the real power is in the vote harvest. The great 40% plurality that could care less.

Rev. Karlan Fairchild, MDiv's avatar

Agreed. Perhaps they are what the sainted Rush Limbaugh termed "the low information voters." In other words willfully ignorant.

Orenv's avatar

These are low information NON-voters. Which makes them easy to manipulate.

Rev. Karlan Fairchild, MDiv's avatar

Do you miss Rush as much as I do?

Linda wallack's avatar

Hope he wins...then the games will have a nice venue

Never underestimate the American citizen’s zest for cutting off their nose to spite their grimace. Here’s hoping I’m wrong.

Orenv's avatar

With the vote harvest, I don't think voters are much of an issue.

sandy picard's avatar

I must say I've never seen such an accurate, and effective, campaign ad. Republicans take notice. Oops, I forget Republicans don't have the balls.

Julie Kelly's avatar

not all of those ads will work outside of LA--however, I am sure GOP strategists are figuring out how to replicate this for November elections but without too much "Hollywood!"

sandy picard's avatar

A few well done AI commercials poking fun at DEI etc. Would go a long way

Brent Bach's avatar

That's what happens when you stand too close while they're nutting the hogs.

About two weeks ago Hot Air did a Spencer Pratt post (https://hotair.com/tree-hugging-sister/2026/04/29/spencer-pratt-is-tearing-up-airwaves-and-karen-bass-a-new-one-in-los-angeles-mayor-race-n3814432) which included his testimony at the November 2025 Palisades Fire field hearing (https://x.com/i/status/1989034005212418106). The raw pain he conveys along with his story and his outrage at the entire debacle had me hooked. I think he can win. He's tapping into people's experiences because he has endured the same and we all know what that engagement can lead to. He just makes sense when he speaks and doesn't make crazy promises or pretend to know everything. I wish him well.

Julie Kelly's avatar

Thanks for this! He is an ideal candidate because he speaks from the heart, he is not scripted, and he vocalizes what so many think but are afraid to say. And yes, he does not overpromise. In reality, a lot of what he pledges won't be tough to achieve early on.

Orenv's avatar

Pratt is another in a newly forming line of people who are willing to play the 80/20 cards that have long been face up on the table. Trump played them too and has been targeted for assassination and legal quagmires for doing it. Maybe because the establishment has been on the gravy train for so long too, they have no interest. See the Republican Senate for an example. I used to think the Big Guy cut was 10% of the budget. With the math showing we pay 60% more per capita than Germany for healthcare (to cover 7% fewer people), I am thinking the 10% ($700B from the federal budget ANNUALLY) is actually low. Hence the lack of "change".

I know the party heads have no interest in actual change, but maybe some of you ideological foot soldiers can step up to replace them. The truth is that populism, playing the 80% favorable rule, is the great gerrymander equalizer.

The only chance Pratt realistically has is if he gets enough money to (pay for and) harvest enough crackhead votes to make it competitive.

Julie Kelly's avatar

This is the model. Either balls to the wall or lose. Trump showed this three times--Pratt is following in his footsteps.

Karen Thompson's avatar

He probably won’t get elected. The Democrats have one primary goal, destroy the United States , and a secondary goal to impeach or murder Trump. They don’t want common sense. They are upset that the rest of LA exists. The Karen Bass left out to Africa while LA was burning. The Democrats are extremely proud of her!!!

Pnoldguy's avatar

And remember, the Republican senate under Thune is insuring the dems victory by election fraud. He and his RINO buddies are making sure stealing elections can continue by blocking the SAVE act. Thune is a DIRC.

Julie Kelly's avatar

I understand the cynicism.

I was under the impression that Pratt is not an "avowed Republican." He vehemently insists he is "neither party," or words to that effect, when I see him being interviewed or debated.

He is obviously a much more rational Republican than delirious, psychotic demoncrat, but I'm pretty sure he claims independence - and not in the way a claimed "independent" but actual demoncrat like angus king or the bern does.

Julie Kelly's avatar

He did register as a Republican but is not making it an issue.

That first AI-produced video showing Mayor Bass as a mix of Marie Marie Antoinette and the Joker, along with life-like rendering of Gavin Newsom and Kamala Harris is FAR AND AWAY the most biting piece of POLITICAL SATIRE I have ever seen. Bar none! Could be the best political satire ever! Genius stuff!

Julie Kelly's avatar

Perfection. And I love how he included Kamala.

Ken D.'s avatar

Pratt isn't even running against Newsom, but he might have just ended Newsom's political career with that "If you were a trans migrant, we could get you a free pussy" zinger.
