Thanks, Julie!👍 I don’t know whether this judge was involved in any of the J6 prosecutions/persecutions, but I would bet he was either very supportive of incarcerating grandmothers who walked peacefully through the Capitol buildings or he actually sentenced them!. Compare that to refusing to prosecute a criminal who openly and repeatedly threatened to murder POTUS. While TDS may not be a terminal affliction, it’s clear that those who suffer from it are incurable. This is a judge who should be removed from the bench.

I like the idea of cameras and Mikes in the courtroom but I'm not sure the defiant robed crusaders would even care. Half of the supreme robed crusaders are on their side.

As a 1978 graduate, when I was in Highschool, railing about congress, I stated that they wouldn't be able to get away with cheating and stealing. Everyone agreed. And then we got C-Span and they lie cheat and steal right in front of us and there's nothing we can do. If we vote them out they just get paid for life. I think I'm still railing.

Either the 'Supremes' or the few good men (and woman) in congress need to make our judicial system great again by putting the law first and have it apply equally to everyone-including bad overreaching judges.

Too many Republicans do not understand, or do understand and are really Democrats masquerading as Republicans to get elected in Red districts/states, that we are in a fight with a foe that knows no boundaries. President Trump has tried to show them how to fight and they refuse the lesson or undermine it. Washington D.C. courts are the most corrupt in our country. The House controls the purse, it should use it and defund courts that defy the law. At this point, there is no reason to try and indict a leftist in the system. Chief Justice Roberts, in theory, wanted to protect the courts and all he has done is presided over their utter demise.

Excerpt: Faruqui concluded his rant: “It’s September 4…as of now we still have a Constitutional democracy.”

I’m not as smart as all these men who studied the Constitution and the law.

It has been my understanding that America has never been a Constitutional democracy, so what is that judge talking about?

Julie, when I saw the title, I thought it was going to be about how judges are (supposedly) randomly selected to hear cases. I like your topic better.

As you mentioned, one concern in the past has been that some participants in the trial, especially the lawyers arguing the cases, will play to the cameras for their 15 seconds of fame, and disrupt courtroom decorum. I don't doubt that they'll do it, but I put more weight on citizens being able to see justice carried out in the courtroom.

As far as the judges acting out, just my opinion, they don't make 'em like they used to. Videos of Senator Kennedy questioning nominees for judgeships are available on the internet. They almost can't be avoided. He has a way of asking the right questions for each nominee, on their experience as a lawyer or judge, and on the law. For many of them, the experience seems light. When asked questions on their knowledge of the law (e.g. what's the difference between an injunction and a stay), many of them struggle. They don't know the law.

I attribute this in many cases to their youth. Any president making a nomination wants his appointee to have a long tenure. As I write this, it occurs to me, the law schools are no longer teaching them the law. They're teaching activism.

Great piece on a problem that will be difficult to solve.

It is PAST time for these judges to be held accountable. They are committing treason against we the people; participating in a conspiracy; participating in an insurrection and impeding the very work that we the people elected and ordered our duly elected executive to do. Past time for them to be rounded up, charged, arrested and put in the DC gulag awaiting their day in court. I volunteer to be on any grand jury to decide their guilt or innocence and their fate. I livebin Louisiana and will travel to DC or better yet, move the proceedings closer to me. The grand juries in DC are as rotten as the judges.

Excellent! I so agree! I also believe strongly these judges need to put their activism aside or RESIGN their Judgeship. This country needs Judges not activists who think they don’t need to abide by rulings of SCOTUS!

These judges are driven by their ideology & hatred for Trump. One should be put through the impeachment process. One may be all it takes to solve the problem. These are not courageous people, but bullies who need to be stood up to & challenged.

Julie, your reporting is so important to the Republic and the Constitution. Please keep it up.

I have two thoughts: 1) There are very dark and sinister reason(s) why these black robed tyrants are emboldened to act as they do. They are either compromised or complicit. I'm going with compromised. I know it's easy to believe they are complicit, due to their legal pedigree, previous work experience, political affiliations, etc. But, that just seems to be the obvious reason. Compromised is more likely. As in sexual perversion, drug and alcohol problems, bribery and blackmail. If the era of Trump has taught us anything, it's that the swamp, (or as I like to say, the DC Pit of Vipers) is much more demonic and evil than even the most cynical of us would have thought. Foreign actors, in cahoots with deep stater's are at the root of the corruption. And nobody in DC is going to willing turn over that stone.

2) The damage to our legal system, our form of justice and basic fairness will continue to be destroyed far beyond the end of TDS. Each of these asinine decisions, wholly without statutory or constitutional basis, can now be used for years to come in all sorts of legal matters that will impact innocent lives for generations. The train of devilish lawyers who are eager to hop on board for the money and fame is incalculable. Hunt for a client, match up some never before tried legal theory, shop for a judge, and next thing you know, there is no constitution. Daniel Horowitz in his excellent book, Stolen Sovereignty, explains it in great detail. Imagine what good all those lawyers in congress could do, if they actually gave a shit.

This may sound very unlikely to happen but I think if an unelected Federal Judge is over ruled 3 times by an appellate court or the Supreme Court they should be removed from office and disqualified to serve as a judge. It clearly indicates they are either biased or unqualified for office or even both! Probably not ever going to happen but maybe the threat would make them nervous.

Good idea for creating a list of judges for potential impeachment, but I think three over-rulings is too few given that the size of the court increases at each level. I do think that any judge that rules against a prior SCOTUS ruling is a candidate for impeachment hearings for undermining Stare Decisis, an underpinning of justice in the USA.

I totally agree. At a MINIMUM, we need audio recordings of ALL court proceedings. This would also be useful because sometimes the court transcriptionists get things wrong. (They do a great job, but they don't always get it right). We also must have free court transcripts available for all citizens. Much more transparency is needed. But the system is VERY broken. Most judges (particularly those in DC) are so extremely biased that they CANNOT be fair and impartial. They think they are kings and queens, and no one elected them. They are truly an embarrassment to their profession. Since Repubs in Congress will NOT do what needs to be done to fix our so-called judicial system (which has morphed BEYOND a two-tiered justice system, and is now CRIMINAL -- letting out actual criminals over and over again to do more crimes, while incarcerating your political opponents for years who maybe only trespassed once in their entire lives), we need a real fix. Since we need to downsize our fed government anyway, I propose reorganizing all of our district courts with the goal of eliminating at least one District totally. How about eliminating the DC District? They did not do any real work of any value for the four years of the Biden admin anyway since all they did was persecute innocent J6ers and very few actual criminals. Total waste of taxpayer dollars. So -- looks to me like that District's not really needed. That way, those rogue judges are GONE due to the need to downsize / reorganize / restructure. DC cases can be farmed out to VA & MD and maybe other districts as well. Just a thought. Not sure how realistic that is, but we need creative, bold solutions to fix our broken justice system -- or I fear our country and most citizens will continue to suffer.

These judges are acting like the judicial branch is above the executive branch which it's not and a law needs to be passed that you have to be born in U.S. and have a law degree to to even be considered being a judge!

Absolutely! People born in other countries do not necessarily understand our form of government nor agree with its underlying principles. They have no business sitting in judgment over American citizens.

What they are is President Wannabes. They are constantly interrupting the Electorate’s preference in having President Trump elected SO THAT HE COULD IMPLEMENT HIS POLICIES. They continue to slap up in the face, undermining the rights of the People and their franchise. We have been watching this for 8 months now. Do we really expect that 50 Million people will be deported in 3 more years? That the Deep State will be gone? Yesterday a district judge ordered that the President doesn’t have the authority to use tariffs (as if no other President has ever used them).
