As I read your finely constructed brief, just a bit before I read your words of clarification, I said to myself, "Wow, the government is casting a really broad explanation for the 1512(c)(2)'s meaning." In short, those jerks are using 1512(c)(2) about as broadly as most of the jerks in various states are using the 14th Amendment to attempt to get Trump's name NOT ON ANY BALLOT for the POTUS vote in 2024!

I get it -- we have a judicial system caught up arguing whether “It depends on what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is.” Over the congressional intent of one or two words in one statute while the J6'ers rot in jail. Why are there no appeals over the real issues -- UNFAIR trials based on made up evidence, hiding of exculpatory evidence, obviously biased judges (based not only on rulings that ALWAYS favor the prosecution but also on their actual statements during trials and at sentencing). Changes of venue are never approved. And now we are discovering that capitol police perjured themselves at trial. So what if convictions on this count are thrown out -- as I understand it, many are being indicted and convicted on multiple counts anyway. Will they have time removed for sentencing based on that count and remain locked up on others? This rant is not meant to diminish Julie's outstanding reporting - it's just my frustration over a judicial system that has become so biased and corrupted that I have lost all faith that anyone can receive a fair trial going up against the Federal government.

In 2020, chief Justice Roberts ruled against taking up a case against the Supreme Court of PA known as SCOPA in which they added two weeks for mail in ballots to be accepted. The law is specific. Mail in ballots will only be accept up until eight pm on election night. Postal dates do not matter!! SCOPA cannot make law or change laws. They can rule whether they are constitutional but only the legislature can make or change laws. After the election, Roberts turned it down stating it had already occurred. John Roberts hates Trump and his supporters. I hope they will take it up but I doubt it.
