Mr. t-shirt was disrespectful from the start. I am not sure what he hoped to accomplish with that performance. If he thougtht President Trump would publicly aquiesce to him, he does not understand who he is dealing with. Calling Vice President Vance "JD" while scolding him was the height of arrogance. Yes, the elites and the left will take Zelenski's side, but so what, no more money from the American taxpayers. Mr. t-shirt will soon find out Europe cannot protect him. I am not rooting for Russia, but if I was Putin I would be laughing at the comedian and getting ready to watch him collapse or beg for mercy.

This could be the defining moment in Trump's (second) presidency. May lead to the unraveling of NATO and end of the war at the same time. Trump remains the greatest clarifying factor in modern history.

Plenty of comments elsewhere blame Trump and Vance for deliberately setting up Zelensky for failure. If one looks at the video, it's clear either 1) Zelensky came to the meeting intending to throw it off track, or 2) he's just plain inept as a diplomat and leader.

Prior to the blow-up, Zelensky passed around photos of Ukrainian POWs who had been starved and tortured by the Russians. His point may be valid, but a meeting with the press in the Oval Office isn't the time or the place. Trump successfully refocused to the purpose of the meeting - achieving peace and signing a minerals deal.

THEN when Trump is trying to wind down the press conference and adjourn to a private discussion, (IOW, at literally the last moment) Zelensky raises all the acts of Russian bad faith since 2014. Again, valid points, but should have been reserved for the private discussion, not a press conference.

Zelensky's history w/ the Biden regime is one of constantly whining, complaining, and demanding more. No matter what the US had done for him and Ukraine, he always demanded more. We can't know what was in his mind here- was he clumsily just trying to get more than what the parties had already agreed to, or kill the deal?

The image of the Ukraine ambassador with her face in hands tells it all. She knew Zelensky had screwed the pooch.

The failure is all on Zelensky. Those trying to blame Trump and Vance are going to blame them no matter what they do.

This was all a setup by anti Trump Obama and Biden lap dogs mainly Susan Rice who is a proven liar. Zelenskyy had no intention of signing an agreement. This is the same grifter who campaigned for Kamala. His acting job was to make Trump look bad, too bad he failed. He is an unappreciative con artist. It's now very clear that the EU and their coordinated responses to the debacle in the Oval Office yesterday, put mini-Putin up to this disgrace. The elites are trying to shame the Trump administration into providing security guarantees.

It's been clear since Germany agreed to the Nordstrom pipelines with Russia, that NATO truly does not need to exist anymore and yesterday was just the icing on the cake.

Zelensky tried to renegotiate for security guarantees on live tv. That's a big no no. It’s almost unforgivable given how many times the US has turned Zelensky down previously. It was also stupid. Once the US has a significant investment in minerals in Ukraine, they will have a security interest in preserving the stability and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

General Zaluzhnyi, former commander of Ukraine's army, is much more popular than Zelensky is in Ukraine. Some think that's why Zelensky removed Zaluzhnyi as armed forces commander and sent him to London as Ukraine's ambassador there. In an election, Zaluzhnyi might win.

Hello from Canada again. This debacle is just the latest fallout from the Obama/Biden policy of appeasement toward Russia. Russia of course, never crossed its border in arms during Trump's first administration due to Trump's global policy, known to Putin, of credible deterrence. It never entered the mind of the fey, cocky Zelenskyy that the mineral concession he and Trump would have signed would have resulted in major American mining investment in Ukraine, resulting in a leap in American interest in Ukraine and thus a significant indirect security guarantee. A physical guarantee could have been worked out over time as the American presence solidified.

Nothing like bringing a knife to a gun fight, especially when the guys with the guns have several notches in their collective belts. It started badly last Wednesday when President Trump was somewhat skeptical of the purpose for Zelensky visit, which he opined on during the press availability at the first cabinet meeting. It got rocky when King Valery showed up dressed like an urchin from some far away land begging for “more.” “More!” “You want more!” VP Vance said it best, words to the effect that you are disrespecting the Oval Office the President and the American People when you try to litigate the situation in front of the cameras rolling. Well of course our “allies” are losing minds. What will become of us they all cry? Putin is on the door step, he will roll up the Baltic! He will roll up Finland and Sweden! Wy? Why? Germany could be next! So for 50 years the Soviet Union decided it was a bad idea to crash across the iron curtain boarder and make a run for the Atlantic. Now suddenly with less total manpower, and a fight on their hands in Ukraine, they are going to gobble up Western Europe. Putin will blow up the Effie Tower, “Is Paris burning?”

Well once they ran the little dictator off the White House ground he scurried to the open arms of the UK and EU war enthusiasts aka Starmer and Macron. This whole thing stinks of a set up. Macron comes over and begs Trump to meet with Zelensky, Starmer arrives and leaves empty handed, but did he really? Zelensky shows up and there is a possibility that he was coached by Blinken, Nuland, RIce and Vindeman to perhaps blow up the deal. Then we have a 50 minute open news event, which goes off in a completely different direction which was to sign a deal. The only thing anyone is talking about is the last 10 minutes and the fact that the Secretary of State looked mortified at the unfolding events. (Of course he was, he was thinking about fielding a dozen calls from the nattering EU midwit leadership.) This writer thinks Zelensky was “told” to blow up the deal, goad Trump and Vance into a fight and embarrass the administration. Now we have the UK and EU coming up with”their” own deal to stop the war. This is simple at this point. No further direct funding, no arms or personnel support to NATO if it is going to Ukraine. Reduce manpower at all USA NATO installations to bare minimum and stop paying into NATO for a short period time. Now that Europe has a set of big boy pants, let them play in the game. They are talking big, what are they going to do if Valdy sends a hyper sonic missile into a NATO Country to prove a point. News flash, spring is coming to the east west axis of attack in the Donbas. That is tank and mechanized infantry weather. The Ukraine doesn’t and Europe doesn’t have the manpower or equipment to slow down let alone stop a serious push from the Russian Federation forces. I know you have your hands full, but it would be good to know whom met whom at the Hay Adams hotel in DC before the 28 February circus at the WH. It is going to get very interesting really quickly!

Great read Ms. Julie.

What cracks me up is that the little chihuahua showed up in ill fitting jeans and took Trump's noting of his lack of attire decorum right off the top, probably with initial confusion. So, must one suppose that Z figured it was, an in kind insult, to slide in the "ocean" slight? And then, when the free world Prez, in a moment, redressed the "feeling" comment by Z, I'm pretty sure that the little whipper snapper had not even the faintest idea of what Trump was talking about. Then the wheels skidded right by his forehead.

It's tough when someone, coming begging, has to puff up and mouth off with someone that is not only like a foot taller, a world smarter, and supported by a compadre that is also highly well read, well spoken and literally looks down on Z, (Vance) from on high!

Chihuahua's ALWAYS believe they own the entire neighborhood even when they come up against a silverback gorilla. And yet Z, likely justifiably, considered himself the Pit Boss when he was dealing with No Brainer Biden. I guess millions in cash, to the Biden's, warrants the USA to ad infinitum slide hundreds of billions in cash to what is likely going to be a blip in history.

Come on Z, spill the beans on all of the Biden trash you have. I'll read it!

Too bad, so sad. The USA owes that inflated puffer fish a week old nothing burger, to gum on, for an extended float in the gutter stream.

Let's see...a nuclear power that threatens to blow up the entire Earth OR a class-less rude minded and arrogant conceited little munchkin with no diplomatic bent at all, who EXPECTS the USA to bankroll his egocentric compunction to eliminate his entire population!

Duh!

AND Zelensky had nerve to release statement that included comments about "continued military assistance" and "security guarantees". Zelensky tried to maneuver and work around Trump. He thought Trump (and Vance) would be all warm/fuzzy/agreeable to THAT ???

I have seen stories to that effect although I don't immediately recall the sources. There would be incredible irony if those same EU members who continually and viciously trash Trump at every opportunity then turn around and steal Trump's thunder on his plan to obtain mineral concessions in Ukraine - talk about duplicity! In principle the deterrent effect against Putin would be the same regardless of who obtains these concessions, the EU or the US, but in reality the EU is so much weaker than the US militarily and politically that the net result would simply be exposing the EU to having those concessions seized by Putin in another Ukrainian adventure. In the EU's hands Ukrainian mineral concessions would not be a deterrent but an inducement for Russia. It would thus fall to the good old US of A to pull the EU's irons out of the fire if you could come up with a successful fallback peace plan.

Zelensky is a consummate liar drug addicted show puppet doing his bidding for MI5, Synagogue of Satan. alphabet agencies, the military industrial complex, etc. etc. etc. Russia has sought a peaceful resolution from nearly the beginning, but Boris Johnson said "NO." All these lies about how " Russia has been killing his people since 2014, is horseshit. The U.S. State Department fomented a coup in 2014 in Kiev, and the neo Nazi's there were murdering their own in Dombass and Lugansk for eight years until Russia decided they had to go in and protect the people - who were Russians, who lived in that area of Ukraine. This is a short history lesson. Do some research and find the truth.
